STILLWATER – The top-ranked Cowgirl tennis team defeated Big 12 foe Iowa State, 7-0, at the Greenwood Tennis Center Sunday afternoon. The win moves Oklahoma State to 13-0 on the season and 2-0 in conference play. The loss drops the Cyclones to 2-7 on the year and 0-2 to open conference play.

Due to only having five available players, the Cyclones forfeited court three for doubles, meaning the Cowgirls would only need to take one of the two remaining courts to claim the point.

Ayumi Miyamoto and Raquel Gonzalez made quick work of doubles, besting Ashlee Narker and Valeska San Martin Ramirez with ease, 6-1. Court one was well on its way to a win before being cut short with No. 6 Anastasiya Komar and Ange Oby Kajuru leading Isabella Dunlap and Anna Supapitch Kuearum, 4-1.

In singles, court six was forfeited by Iowa State, giving the Cowgirls a quick 2-0 lead.

No. 84 Miyamoto kept the hot start going, defeating Gala Arangio 6-1, 6-0. Oklahoma State’s No. 56 Safiya Carrington followed suit soon after, taking down Ramirez 6-2, 6-1.
