STILLWATER – Oklahoma State finished the dual season at 14-1 losing the final dual of the season to rival Iowa from the BIg 10 Conference. Oklahoma State’s wrestlers were ubeaten in Big 12 duals going 8-0 against conference foes. That is who they will be battling in the tournament format on Saturday and Sunday, March 9-10 at the BOK Center in Tulsa. It is the Big 12 Wrestling Championships.

Smith is emphasizing winning Big 12.

Head coach John Smith’s message to his team has been to take back the Big 12. Oklahoma State has 55 conference championships in program history. Smith has coached the Cowboys to 21 of those, including 19 in the Big 12 Conference. The last was a tie for the titel in 2021. Smith has urged his wrestlers to prepare to take back the BIg 12 Championship. Forget the NCAA for now, the objective is to be Big 12 Champs again.

The seeds and the brackets for the championships were announced today by the Big 12.

As for Oklahoma State, the Cowboys only have one wrestler seeded first and that is Daton Fix at 133 pounds. OSU came out with three number two seeds, two three seeds, two four seeds, a five, and a seven. The Cowboys also saw four of their wrestlers draw a bye in the first round. The good aspect of that is you move on, the bad is you lose that opportunity to pick up bonus points. Here is a complete look at the brackets for the Big 12 Wrestling Championship in Tulsa.

125 Troy Spratley (18-5) No. 2 Bye
