Publisher’s Note: This is the first installment of our new NIL athlete journal with Oklahoma State Cowgirls tennis player Safiya Carrington. Carrington does an excellent job of telling her own story, so we won’t go back mush into here background other than her family is extremely prominent and holds historical significance with the African-American race and the sport of tennis.
