Coach Smith is correct in that Iowa State is the favorite. The Cyclones have 2 Number 1 seeds and 4 Number 2 seeds. Yonger Bastida at Heavyweight and David Carr both have legitimate shots at winning individual Big 12 titles for the Cyclones as Number 2 seeds.

The Cowboys certainly need a tournament title from Daton Fix as is expected. Dustin Plott has the potential
to win the 184 Big 12 title. Plott needs to take control and wrestle with authority.

Troy Spratley 125, Tagen Jamison 141 and Brayden Thompson 174 would have to wrestle over their heads to win titles. Upsets do happen. The Cowboys need upsets to go their way. Let's hope our big guys Luke Surber and Konner Doucet step up and finish 4th place or higher. Jordan Williams 149 needs to finish in the top 4 and IIzzak Olejnik 165 could win the whole thing at 165. A good psyche up by the Cowboy coaching staff could make all
of the difference for Olejnik!

The Missouri Tigers have a shot at winning their third straight team title. The Tigers have Number 1 seeds in Noah Surtin at 125 and Keegan O'toole at 165. The Tigers have other wrestlers that can score team points such as Peyton Mocco 174, Rocky Elam 197, Colton Hawks 184, Brice Mauler. 157 and Zach Elam at Heavyweight.

The Big 12 showcases some great wrestlers from many different schools such as Vinny Zerban 157 Northern Colorado, Ryder Downey 157 Northern Iowa, Cade Devos South Dakota State 174, Parker Keckeisen Northern Iowa184, Tanner Sloan South Dakota State 197, Stephen Buchanan OU 197 and Wyatt Hendrickson Air Force 285.

The Big 12 Wrestling Tournament should be one of the best in years..
