(I consider Cunningham to be a point forward, FWIW)
Javon Small Tabbed Big 12 Honorable Mention
STILLWATER – It was a solid first season in Stillwater for Oklahoma State point guard Javon Small as he was tabbed Big 12 Honorable Mention.
The junior out of South Bend, Indiana, recorded a team-high 14.9 points and 4.2 assists per game in Big 12 play, while finishing the season with 14.3 points on nearly 44% shooting from the field, 36% from 3-point range and a team-high 86% from the free throw line.
Should he finish the season with at least 86% from the line, it would mark the fourth-highest percentage in school history on more than 100 makes from the charity stripe.
His 14.9 points, 4.2 assists and 4.4 defensive rebounds per game ranked among Big 12 leaders this season.
The starting the final 30 games of the season after missing the season opener, Small posted 13 games with at least five assists, scored at least 20 points in five games and capped his regular season by dropping a career-high 34 points in the 85-71 road loss to BYU this past Saturday.
Small has a chance to add to his season stats Tuesday morning as the Cowboys look to snap a five-game losing streak as they face UCF in the opening round of the Big 12 tournament.
