STILLWATER – It’s football time in Stillwater, America, as Oklahoma State strapped on its helmets and lined up for the start of spring football in the Sherman Smith Indoor on Tuesday afternoon.

Head coach Mike Gundy met with the media ahead of the practice at 2:30 p.m. CT to discuss his Pokes, the offseason and what he expects from his team over the next month.

I know it seems like we say this every single spring, partly because we do, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a more relaxed Mike Gundy, who returns nearly every starter from both sides of the ball from last season. That includes the entire offensive line, the starting quarterback, just about every receiver, a Doak Walker Award-winning running back and several All-Big 12 and All-American players on the defensive side of the ball.

“Last spring, we had 28 new players,” said Gundy, “this spring is around 12-ish, somewhere in that area. So, less than half [from last year]. More rentention from the team in general. We have seventh-year guys, sixth-year guys, fifth-year guys. So, it’s considerably different from an installation standpoint. We’ve got a few players we’ll have to bring along slower that are new, but a majority of them can move along pretty quick.”

We’ll have a complete report of the first practice later Tuesday evening, as well as multiple articles based on the interviews from the four players speaking to the media, Ollie Gordon, Justin Kirkland, Nick Martin and Joe Michalski.
