Eric Dailey Jr. Has Entered the Transfer Portal
STILLWATER – Another Oklahoma State freshman has reportedly entered the transfer portal. Pokes Report can confirm multiple reports that Eric Dailey Jr. has entered his name into the transfer portal, joining fellow freshman Brandon Garrison.
This comes just a little over two weeks after Chad Weiberg fired former Cowboy head coach Mike Boynton.
Dailey was a key member for the Cowboys this past season, appearing in 32 games with 16 starts. He averaged 9.3 points per game on 50% shooting from the field, 33% from 3-point range and 60% from the free throw line. He also recorded nearly five rebounds and 1.5 assists in 22.3 minutes per game.
The 6-8, 230-pound forward is going to garner a lot of attention from schools around the Big 12 and the country. However, Pokes Report spoke with a source who said that while both Garrison and Dailey are in the portal, they’ve stayed in Stillwater and around the program and are waiting to hear what the new head coach has to say.
Pokes Report also spoke with a former assistant coach, who said Garrison has been to every event the team’s had and has stayed very engaged.
Reports are Western Kentucky’s Steve Lutz is set to become OSU’s next head coach, but there’s been no announcement from OSU. If that is in fact the case, Lutz is a coach who knows how to coach and develop big men and could do a lot of good with both Dailey and Garrison if they were to decide to stay in Stillwater.
