STILLWATER – The welcome ceremony and the initial press conference was just what you would expect. There was a pep band, cheerleaders, pom squad, and Pistol Pete was there. The Oklahoma State players that decided to attend, Brandon Garrison and Eric Dailey Jr. were not there but many others were including Jamyron Keller and recent former player John-Michael Wright asked a question. It was the usual celebration to welcome a new head coach. The part I liked was his message.

I like this hire. I think it's hard to draw a major distinction between a few of the coaches (DeVries, Sprinkle, Lutz) rumored to be on the Pokes list. They all have had recent success at schools with limited resources. I'm not sure if the connections to coach Sutton or Iba are that significant given the generations between them. I think coach was politely trying to say that. I'm actually more excited about his ties to coach Painter and McDermott who is very creative and teams play the game the right way.

Congrats to coach Lutz and let's go Pokes!

He looks intense and serious about winning. Reminds me of Eddie. Something we seemed to lack before.

I had the pleasure of knowing Eddie very well. He was intense, focused and would not settle for average.
