STILLWATER – Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy met with the media on Tuesday afternoon ahead of the third week of spring football for the Pokes.

Gundy discussed a number of topics during his near-20-minute availability, including the possibility of spring football fatigue amongst older players who have gone through spring workouts before, if there were any freshmen who were starting to stand out physically and the possibility of his coaching/recruiting staff having to go through the portal to replace any possible departures at the end of the spring season.

He also addressed one of the hot gossip topics floating around Stillwater the past few days: the Gundy homestead going on the market. We’re not going to spend too much time talking about it, but here’s what Mike had to say.

“It is too big of a house for two people,” Gundy said when asked. Actually, first he asked if anybody in the group wanted to buy it. “It needs to be for a young family that has a lot of energy and wants to be on a ranch and goof around and have a swimming pool and all that stuff. That is kind of past my time.”

Gundy mentioned that when they first moved in to the big stone house that I’ve always thought resembled a ski lodge that his boys were 14-years-old, eight-years-old, and the youngest Gage was five. It has been a tremendous house for the family, named the “3GB Ranch” for three Gundy boys.

The recruiting weekends evenjust last weekend and this next one include a dinner with the recruits, their families, the coaching and recruiting staff and their families at the Gundy home.

“In that particular area, yes, that sits on 110 acres,” Gundy answered when asked if he is selling all the land out there. “It’s just a lot for two people. Somebody else needs to enjoy it at some point.”

Gundy said he will miss the times and the events his family had there more than anything itself about the house. He can recreate it, but my favorite room in the house is his office which is to the right when you walk in the front door. It is like an OSU museum with so many momentos of Gundy’s playing and coaching career.

Pokes Report will have extended coverage from Tuesday’s practice, as well as multiple articles from the player availability following practice featuring Brennan Presley, Preston Wilson, Collin Oliver and Cam Smith.
