STILLWATER – It was a stark year for Oklahoma State football in this year’s NFL Draft. But most people knew that going in, with eyes on next year’s draft with talents like Ollie Gordon, Kendal Daniels and Collin Oliver among others.

This article will be keeping track of the draft-eligible OSU players who have signed undrafted rookie free agent deals.

We’ll start with receiver, Leon Johnson III, who signed a deal with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Johnson spent just one season in Stillwater, breaking his redshirt and playing a significant number of minutes down the stretch of the season due to injuries in the receiver room.

Play a bulk of his games from the end of October, Johnson, who transferred from D3 George Fox, proved he had what it takes to play at the P5 level having recorded 539 yards and one touchdown on just 33 receptions.

The 6-5 outside receiver will need to put on some weight to play at the next level, but he’ll certainly have the chance to turn some heads in the NFL with some of the circus catches he became known for in Stillwater.

Defensive lineman Anthony Goodlow has also signed with a team in Los Angeles, but with the Rams instead.

Goodlow played in all 14 games this past season for the Pokes after transferring from NEO, starting nine of the final 10 games. He led all Cowboy defensive linemen with 42 total tackles on the season, which included 18 solo stops. He also recorded 7.0 tackles for loss, which was fourth on the team, all numbers which earned him honorable mentions from the Big 12 coaches for Defensive Lineman of the Year, Defensive Newcomer of the Year and All-Big 12.

Defensive end Nathan Latu was the third Cowboy to receive a call to sign an undrafted rookie free agent deal, this one with the New Orleans Saints.

Latu signed with the Cowboys ahead of the 2021 season from Snow JC. Latu played in all 14 games this past season, including five starts. He finished second among defensive linemen with 31 total tackles and third on the team with 3.0 sacks, first among DLmen.

With how Latu’s body and talent level developed during his time in Stillwater, he has a real chance of making a splash with the Saints.

Running back Elijah Collins is the fourth Cowboy to sign an UDFA deal, this one with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Collins, who transferred from Michigan State ahead of last season, played in 10 games in his lone season in Stillwater. He finished the season with 30 carries for 142 yards and two touchdowns. He would finish the year eighth on the team with 171 all-purpose yards.

A jack of all trades for the Cowboys during his career, it was announced on Monday Braden Cassity had signed with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Cassity played just about every position during his career with the Pokes. OK, I’m being a little silly, but coming to Stillwater from Austin (TX) Westlake, Cassity started his career as a defensive lineman before being moved to linebacker. Than he made the switch over the offensive side of the ball to cowboy back, before being moved to a full-time fullback for his final season with the Pokes.

This past season, he finished with four receptions for 17 yards and was a primary blocker for Ollie Gordon. The Chargers are getting a really hard worker in Cassity.

After just one season in Stillwater, tight end Josiah Johnson is headed to the Pacific North West and the Seattle Seahawks.

Johnson transferred to Oklahoma State from UMass during the spring of last year. In his one season in Stillwater, Johnson played a vital role for the Pokes playing in all 14 games and starting in 12 of them. He recorded 22 catches for 166 yards and one touchdown, earning honorable mention for both Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year and All-Big 12.

Zac . . . Just curious why you say Johnson needs to gain weight, as a wide receiver? Did you hear someone mention that?

It's discussed in the thread further down the page re: Johnson

Johnson was hoping to play four games last season, get his feet wet, develop in the weight room with Rob Glass and his staff and then develop on the field with Kasey Dunn and the coaching staff then come back in 2024. (he weighed in at 207)
