STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State commit Davonte ‘Devo’ Davis is going to be playing in Stillwater after all. The Arkansas transfer guard took to social media on Monday evening to make the announcement official.

Shortly after his commitment post, Cowboy basketball announced Davis has already signed with the program.

"Devo is a great person from a great family, and he has an incredibly engaging personality. Cowboy fans will see some of that same energy out on the basketball court. He is a multi-dimensional athlete who plays with effort and purpose on both ends. He's made big plays in big moments over the course of his career, and I'm confident he'll do the same here at Oklahoma State."

Davis was a four-star prospect out of Jacksonville, AR, who had originally committed to former OSU head coach, Mike Boynton, back in December of 2018, before decommitting nearly a year later in October of 2019.

Head coach Steve Lutz hosted Davis on an official visit just a few weeks after taking over the job. Davis, who entered the transfer portal back on March 20 after four seasons in Fayetteville, checks in at 6-4, 185 pounds. It was a bit of a rough senior season this past year for Davis as he posted just under six points per game on a career-low 36% shooting from the field. He also recorded 3.4 rebounds and two assists per game.

Those numbers are down from a solid junior season for the Hogs in which he averaged 11 points per game on nearly 42% shooting from the field. As a sophomore, Davis posted 8.3 points per game on 43% shooting from the field and 8.5 points on nearly 48% shooting from the field as a true freshman.

Following that third season, Davis was named to the SEC All-Defensive team.

According to Arkansas athletics media relations, Devo became just the ninth player in program history to record 900+ points, 400+ rebounds, 200+ assists and 100+ steals in his career.

Devo should have one year of eligibility remaining.

This is a really good pick up for Lutz as many expect Davis to bounce back offensively from last season. He’s also a very solid defender who’s going to help bolster the Pokes on the other end of the court. He joins FIU guard Arturo Dean, Texas Tech forward Robert Jennings II and UCF forward Marchelus Avery.
