STILLWATER – This is a big win for Oklahoma State football, head coach Mike Gundy, director of recruiting Todd Bradford and the coaching and recruiting staffs as Port Arthur (Memorial), Texas defensive end Michael Riles has verbally committed and posted on social media his commitment to Oklahoma State.  Riles made an official visit to Oklahoma State the third weekend of April during spring football practice for the Cowboys and he said he had a strong visit.

“It went great, and I had a great time. It was great to see what Oklahoma State was all about and I learned a lot and really enjoyed it,” Riles told Pokes Report after he had returned home to Port Arthur. “Oklahoma State is a school that I can see myself at. I was comfortable there.”

Oklahoma State beat a strong final contingent of schools that Riles considered with Texas A&M (June 14 visit), Nebraska (June 21 scheduled visit), UCF (June 7 visit plus an unofficial visit in April), and Texas Tech said to be the final five along with Oklahoma State. He also had offers from a lot of other schools including Colorado State, Florida, Georgia Tech, Houston, Missouri, SMU, TCU, Texas, and Southern Cal.

Credit defensive coordinator Bryan Nardo, defensive line coach Paul Randolph, and defensive line recruiter D.J. Linton for staying in touch with Riles and keeping him interested and informed on Oklahoma State.

The 6-4, 235 pound athletic and explosive defensive end was a first-team All-District 8-5A-I honoree last season when he posted 45 total tackles, 24 of which came for a loss, as a junior. He has played a lot of football for the Titans having started as a sophomore as well.

Greg Powers and the staff at Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine have Riles rated at the No. 20 recruit in the 2025 class in the State of Texas.

Oklahoma State also has a commitment from the No. 39 prospect on that list in Columbus, Texas quarterback Adam Schobel. Oklahoma State offered 10 of the players on that list.

Riles is the 17th overall player to commit to the Pokes in the 2025 class. He’s the 11th player out of Texas and the sixth commitment on the defensive side of the ball.

Great addition to class. Would love to see Cowboys add a high quality DT as well.
