STILLWATER – Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II picked up a prestigious preseason honor this week as he was tabbed a Walter Camp Preseason All-American, the Walter Camp Football Foundation announced.

Ollie was one of 16 players on the preseason list who earned All-America status following the 2023 season.

You can view the complete list here.

Also, a part of the release was an announcement stating the Players to Watch list for the upcoming 2024 Walter Camp Player of the Year award will be released on Monday, August 5. Expect Ollie to be among the players listed.

However, what’s unfortunate about this honor from the Walter Camp Football Foundation is how it was overshadowed by Gordon’s DUI arrest early Sunday morning. The news wasn’t written up by OSU Athletics media relations, nor was it sent out via social media.

Gordon, who is 20 years of age, was observed Sunday morning around 2:30 weaving in and out of his lane on Interstate 35 just north of Norman and was pulled over for going 82 MPH in a 65 MPH zone. The arresting officer smelled alcohol, which allowed him to search the vehicle, finding two open bottles of alcohol. The affidavit lists the following charges: DUI under 21, transport of open container of alcohol, failure to maintain lane of traffic and speeding 15-20 mph over the limit.
