The contract is set to give Taylor a $30,000 increase each of the six years of the contract, with performance bonuses built into the contract. He’s set to receive $125,000 for any team NCAA title, $80,000 for a runner-up finish, $60,000 for third place finishes and $10,000 for any individual NCAA title won. According to the report, Taylor is also set to receive a one-time $1 million payment.

It’s believed Taylor is now the highest-paid coach in college wrestling.

Pokes Report has learned that Penn State head coach Cael Sanderson is making the neighborhood of $750,000 a year, not including bonuses. Sanderson has led Penn State to 11 national championships since he took over the program in 2009.

Iowa head coach Tom Brands will hit the $750,000 mark by the 2026-27 season, but will clear that and make $800,000 the final year of his contract in 2028-29.
