Mike Gundy: Collin Oliver Possibly Done For the Year
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State won of the crazier games we’ve seen from the Pokes in while as they rallied back from 21-7 to beat Arkansas, 39-31, in double overtime.
But in the first half while the Cowboys were struggling on both sides of the field, they received from news no one wants to hear about one of the leaders on the team: Collin Oliver might be done for the year.
Head coach Mike Gundy mentioned during his postgame press conference he believes Oliver has a fracture of a crack in his lower right leg.
“I think that he’s done for the year. I haven’t gotten an update other than the game when they said he wasn’t coming back, and they thought that he might have had maybe a fracture or a crack, but I’m not for sure.”
The injury happened in the first half as Oliver came out of the game before halftime and came out with a boot for the third quarter.
Oliver recorded two total tackles in the first half, including two quarterback hurries and one pass break up.
“CO’s an unbelievable player, he’s one of the best players on our team,” Bowman said of Oliver. “I don’t know exactly what happened or what’s going on, but we’re gonna pray for him and hope he gets better.”
