Zach Ehrhard Signs With Boston Red Sox
STILLWATER - Another former Oklahoma State player is officially a professional baseball player. It was reported over the weekend Zach Ehrhard has signed his contract with the Boston Red Sox.
As you can see, Ehrhard signed for $500,000, which is $130,900 below the slot value of the 115th pick.
Ehrhard, who’s originally out of Tampa, FL, just finished his junior season with the Pokes, posting a .330 batting average. He struck out 36 times to 54 walks, 14 home runs, 25 doubles and one triple.
Ehrhard was drafted by the Red Sox following his high school career before choosing to come to Stillwater. His brother, Drew, was also drafted by the Red Sox and is currently playing for the double-A affiliate, the Portland Sea Dogs.
"He improved so much as a player, he was as good as they get in high school," Ehrhard’s former high school coach Scott Hoffman said. “I told everybody who would listen that he's what you want in a player."
Injuries were a bit of an issue for Ehrhard in 2023, but was a freshman standout for the Pokes in 2022 as he was a unanimous All-Big 12 Freshman selection.
