Alan Bowman Pulls Down ESPN Helmet Sticker for Tulsa Performance
STILLWATER – Tulsa decided to load the box most of the game against Ollie Gordon and the Oklahoma State offense and found out that quarterback Alan Bowman and his cast of receivers are well in sync with each other.
The scenario produced a 21-of-34 passing day for Bowman for 396-yards and five touchdowns, including four in the first half in route to a 45-10 rout for the Cowboys over Tulsa.
Late Saturday night on the popular College Football Final show on ESPN host Matt Barre awarded Bowman one of college Football’s most coveted weekly awards with a CFF helmet sticker. It was the first announced on the show.
Bowman’s sticker makes it two weeks in a row as OSU linebacker Nick Martin was the receipient of a sticker last week after a 16 tackle and 4.5 tackles-for-loss effort in the win over the Razorbacks.
Bowman threw touchdown passes to De’Zhaun Stribling (2), Brennan Presley, Talyn Shettron, and freshman tight end Josh Ford (career first). Later Sesi Vailahi scored his first career touchdown on a counter pitch. It was the team’s only rushing touchdown of the game.
Next Saturday at 3 p.m. on FOX the Cowboys host Utah in a battle of ranked Big 12 Conference favorites.
