Oklahoma State Offensive Review at K-State: Script Flipped-Outcome the Same

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy told his team he would be at work early to tackle what needs to be done to get Cowboy football back on track. I believe in that. While I was driving home from Manhattan, Kansas thinking about what I had seen all I could think of was my favorite spot on the den sofa and watching at least the second half of Georgia at Alabama. I made it and I watched it. I caught a few others as well, most entertaining finishes.

Did you watch the Arizona vs Utah game? Arizona really slowed down the Utah ground game and said ok true freshman, you try and beat us!!! He couldn't and threw two picks!!! Give Arizona credit, they went on the road to Salt Lake City and knocked off the Utes!!!

Arizona is a well-coached team. We are not.

Robert, you mentioned our players facial expressions on Saturday. Something has happened to our team.

Is it possible that using the tablets is causing our players to "overthink" what they are doing instead of just going out, reacting, and playing football? Could it be causing them think too much about what they are doing wrong rather than forgetting the last play(s) and going out in the next set of plays doing what they know and have been taught to do?

Just a thought to consider.

Thanks.

In the past Coach Gundy would say ...

You worked hard, very hard, during the week... we prepared you .... we coached you up...

Now go out, play football, and have fun!

They stacked the box and were just good enough on the back end to not allow the true freshman hurt them when they were in man coverage, especially on the outside!!!

You cannot win if you cannot stop the run. Out DL cannot get any push thus the OL is on our LB's. We are getting beat up front. We give up basically 600 yards every week.

Also hard to win when your QB throws into TRIPLE coverage.

In addition to stacking the box, Arizona DL did a lot of stunting and they always had their nose tackle shade to one side or the other just off the centers shoulder to flood a gap on certain running plays which slowed down the Utah ground game! I must say I was very impressed with their defensive game plan!!!
