STILLWATER – Over years of covering Oklahoma State head football coach Mike Gundy you learn that Gundy never throws everything out on the floor at a press conference. He talks about being completely honest, but there are varying degrees of that with every professional and college coach. They never come out reveal all the issues, all the things that go inside meeting rooms and locker rooms. They can’t, but some reveal more clues.

Mr Allen, I have watched OSU football since 1958. I know bad qb play when I see it.He will not step into a throw and absorb the hit. I realize he has past injuries but you can't play football that way. I will admit he is not being helped by his receivers not fighting for the ball.

Our execution is poor and we don't look well coached at all. Our defense is 129th out of 131 FBS teams! That is just bad! KSU ran for almost NINE YARDS PER CARRY and that's junior high bad run defense. Where's the pride and toughness?

Our offense is just as bad with no ability to string successful plays together enough to score. The focus of players and the polish evident in good execution isn't there. With this much experience, that shouldn't happen if you're a good team. Obviously, when we played two good teams in conference we got exposed and I don't know if this older group will mail it in or truly compete with the pride and effort required to have a chance to win!

Our last two trips to Manhattan we've lost by 7 touchdowns and 3 touchdowns, not competitive in the least which shouldn't happen to a quality football team that desires to be Top 25 in the nation. No team that's very good gets beat that bad anywhere!

Fans have a right to be concerned and that should be understandable.

RA - against Arkansas, Utah, and K-State Bowman is struggling to complete 50% of his throws. This may be a shared QB/WR problem but if it persists we will have a hard time winning. When the box is stacked to stop the run it's got to be closer to 65%.

RA - the offense is only half of the problem. This defense is worse than last year! It will continue to make winning difficult.

"The other part of this I don't understand is the fans criticism of quarterback Alan Bowman."

Oh, please. I can't believe you would even type that sentence, Robert. He's been horrible! He NEVER sets his feet and he throws to covered guys all the time. He should have a lot more interceptions. Lots more. If he was accurate at all then the run game would be better. But when he has only a 50% completion rate then the other team just says to themselves..."He can't beat us, stay the course."

Here's the deal. Bowman sucks and Rangel is worse. What's behind door #3?

To add to Guitar54's post, against ARK, Utah, & KSU (the 3 P4 teams) Bowman's completion rate is 52% with
4 TDs/5 INTs. No amount of RA's Pollyanna can cover up that stink!!! This is with all of the defenses keying on shutting down Ollie and the run game. And yes, that INT # could be higher if it weren't for drops by the opponents DBs.

The defenses are selling out to stop the run, and we're completing 50% of our passes against P4 opponents.
Of those 50%, about 50% are poor throws where the receivers are having to make an acrobatic catch. About 25% of the incompletions are poor throws that could have been completed.
If Bowman is the best QB we can field that is an indictment on the OC/QB coach if that's the most talented away they can recruit or develop. I'm sorry, I hate to be this way, but it seems fairly obvious Bowman is not cutting the mustard. He's consistently bailing out of throws with good protection.
