Defensive Review: Way Too Many Missed Tackles, Chunk Plays Allowed, and Poor 4th Quarter

WACO, Texas – There was hope on Saturday at McLane Stadium because after the first quarter the seemingly easy to attack Oklahoma State defense had a fourth down stop, an interception off of a big punt return, and a stop in the red zone to force a field goal. The score was tied at three each, and the only big chuck plays came on two passes. Baylor and newly annointed running back Bryson Washington had just 29-yards rushing.

Time for some coordinator and assistant coaching changes. If Gundy not willing to do that; he should retire. The trajectory of the program is unacceptable.

I will tell you how bad it WAS Gumby! We allowed a curly red headed white kid with average speed hit us with 6 carries for 142 yards, yes, forget about Bryson Washington, Dawson Pendergrasshad 142 yards on SIX CARRIES!!!

Our defense is a complete clown show. Pathetic. Worse than awful. Complete embarrassment. Get players and coaches on this team who believe in Cowboy football.

I am so tired of watching Kendall Daniel's jog around and not want to hit someone. He needs to be on the bench. Well cannot do that because we don't have any depth on defense. Hard to believe a defense can become so bad in two years. Yesterday was an embarrassment. We have stopped no one this year. 600 yards every week what a joke. Buy some players and get some coaches that can make it happen. Notice Duke is doing pretty well on defense. Seems like we hired someone from there who got it done. Sorry for the rant this defense is hard to watch.

I can't agree more about Daniels. Martin has progressed, Oliver has progressed, Rucker, heck even guys like Roberson. Daniel's looks exactly the same if not worse than when he showed up.

The intensity and urgency to win was totally lacking. Half-axe play at best on several starters' part. Time to call this season a rebuilding year, get the young ones playing time and move to a total evaluation of all coaches, recruiting focus and how Gundy is going to fix this mess. If a HS recruit cannot contribute sooner than later, maybe their spot should go to a portal player. There is little time to develop players that will barely contribute. GO POKES!!!
