STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is set to host Arizona State for Homecoming this coming Saturday, and it’s looking like the Cowboys will get the Sun Devils at near full health as it was reported starting quarterback Sam Leavitt was cleared and expected to play.

Leavitt left the 27-19 upset win over No. 16 Utah a few weeks back with a rib injury, before returning to the game and helping led the win. However, he was ruled out the following week against Cincinnati, which ended up being a 24-14 road loss.

The Cowboys enter the game riding a five-game losing streak, having lost to Baylor this past weekend, 38-28. The Sun Devils were going to be a tough out for the Pokes, but them having their one-two punch of Leavitt and running back of Cam Skattebo make the Sun Devils a dangerous offense.

“He’s their energy, right? Guy plays hard, he breaks tackles. He gets up, tells you to bring it on. He likes it,” head coach Mike Gundy said of Skattebo. “They feed off of him. He’s the guy that in my opinion, I’m an outsider, they feed off of his energy.  He very well could be the best back we’ve played. He’s a good back. They feed off him. So, if you want to slow them down, in my opinion, you better tackle him.”

The Sun Devils are currently 5-2 overall on the season and 2-2 in Big 12 play.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be televised on FS1.
