Postgame Notes

  • Brennan Presley hauled in five catches for 29 yards and a touchdown on Saturday as he approaches several career milestones:
  • Presley’s five receptions increased his career total to 286, just seven behind Rashaun Woods (293) for the most in program history.
  • With 37 all-purpose yards on Saturday, Presley now sits 30 away from becoming the fourth player in program history to reach 5,000 career all-purpose yards.
  • Presley has had multiple catches in 39 straight games, the second longest active streak in the FBS, and at least three in 17 straight.
  • It was Presley’s seventh receiving score of the year, his most ever in a single season, and third straight game finding the endzone.
  • After De’Zhaun Stribling’s 36-yard catch put Oklahoma State near the goal line, Alan Bowman connected with Brennan Presley from two yards out to even the score at 7-7 early in the second quarter. The touchdown marked the 23rd receiving score Presley’s career, while Bowman’s career passing touchdown total improved to 64. Both players entered Saturday’s game in the top 15 nationally for career touchdown passes and receptions.
  • Josh Ford’s career-long 26-yard reception set up a two-yard touchdown run by Ollie Gordon II, equaling the score at 14-14 with 5:26 left in the second quarter. Gordon II has scored six times in the past three games as part of his 10 touchdowns this season and 36 for his career, a total that ranked ninth among all active FBS players prior to Saturday.
  • The Cowboy offensive line did not allow a sack for the 11th time in the past 19 games, and its seven sacks allowed on the year ranks top 10 nationally.
  • True freshman Maealiuaki Smith garnered his first career snaps as he entered the game at the 7:04 mark in the fourth quarter and led the Cowboys to a seven-play, 49-yard touchdown drive. He completed one-of-two passes for 11 yards, and Sesi Vailahi punched in his second career touchdown run to cap off the possession.
  • Kody Walterscheid posted one of the best games of his career, racking up a career-high six tackles, a sack for the second consecutive game and one quarterback hurry.
  • The Cowboy offense converted two its three opportunities on fourth down to make it seven for its last nine in such situations.
  • Jonathan Agumadu and Justin Crutchmer also appeared in the first game of their collegiate careers.
  • Oklahoma State’s game captains were Rashod Owens, Joe Michalski, Jeff Roberson and Kenneth Harris.
  • Play was suspended during halftime at 4:22 p.m. CT due to severe weather and resumed at 7:00 p.m.
