Oklahoma State's Winning Season and Bowl Streak Ends at 18 With 38-13 Loss to TCU

Oklahoma State’s disappointing run in the Big 12 continued Saturday night as TCU dismantled the Pokes, 38-13.

With the loss, the Cowboys remain winless in Big 12 play and moved to 3-7 on the season, 0-7 in Big 12 play. Mike Gundy’s streak of 18 winning seasons in a row and 18-straight bowl games officially came to an end.

Starting quarterback Alan Bowman finished the game going 19-of-29 for 141 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Running back Ollie Gordon II finished with 25 carries for 121 yards and one touchdown.

The two highlights of the game for Oklahoma State came in the second half as receiver Brennan Presley eclipsed 5,000 career all-purpose yards with a five-yard reception late in the third quarter. He joined Thurman Thomas, Barry Sanders and Terry Miller as the only four Cowboys to have that many yards. Then early in the fourth quarter, Presley became the all-time receptions leader in OSU history on an 18-yard reception.

Presley finished the game with 10 receptions for 75 yards.

Fellow receiver De’Zhaun Stribling have seven receptions for 101 yards and one touchdown.

It was a bad first half for the Cowboy offense as they recorded two turnovers, one fumble by Ollie Gordon II and one interception by Alan Bowman. They combined for just 89 yards of total offense, Bowman going 6-of-9 for 45 yards and Gordon with 13 carries for 54 yards.

On the other side of the field, however, TCU had a field day, literally. Quarterback Josh Hoover went 19-of-26 for 216 yards and one touchdown, while Cam Cook had five carries for 39 yards and one touchdown and Savion Williams had the other rushing touchdown.

The Cowboys came out in the second half and showed some life. It was an 11-play, 78-yard drive, which was capped off by a two-yard touchdown run by Gordon II. It was Ollie’s 10th rushing touchdown of the season. The drive featured seven first downs, including picking up a first down on 4th and one from the TCU 43-yard line. Unfortunately, the Cowboys only got six out of the deal as Bowman’s pass to Presley was tipped at the line.

The Horned Frogs continued to pour it on as they scored 28 points across the final three quarters of the game.

The Cowboys have their second of two open weeks this week, before returning home on Nov. 23 for Senior Day against Texas Tech.

Glad we got to see so much Bowman! It's important to get him some experience for next season! Great work Gundy!

We saw zero points from bowman and an interception. We again started bowman till last 5 minutes? Great.

I have watched OSU football since the 70's and this is starting to feel like the end of the Pat Jones and Bob Simmons eras. Bad coaching and a lack of talent especially back up talent. Maybe new coaches and the portal can save this mess. Sure hope so because this is just getting worse. Oh and by the way start fair catching kickoffs.

So….if I skip paying my electricity bill this month, does that mean I'm allowed to complain about yet another weekend of miserable Cowboy football?
