Mekhi Ragland Signs With Oklahoma State
A big bruiser with a soft touch, 6-foot-10 forward Mekhi Ragland has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Oklahoma State beginning in 2025-26.
The No. 123 prospect in the Class of 2025, per On3, Ragland is playing his senior year at Kansas-based Sunrise Christian Academy, competing with some of the nation's elite high school programs in the EYBL Scholastic league (formerly NIBC).
Originally from New Jersey, Ragland has spent the past two years living in the Atlanta area. He was named to the Georgia Coaches Association's Class 7A All-Star Team following his junior season at Berkmar High School and made the Atlanta Tipoff Club's 2023-24 All-Metro Team.
In the summer of 2024, Ragland ran with Team Huncho on the Adida's 3SSB circuit. In 15 games, he averaged 11.1 points and 5.1 rebounds while shooting 60% from the field, 44% from three and 75% at the foul line.
Lutz said: "We always want to play through our big men, and Mekhi gives us that ability. He's a strong and physical post presence who has an outstanding feel for the game, particularly as a passer. He has good hands, quick feet and a shooting touch that extends all the way out to the perimeter. Mekhi will benefit from a year with Coach Lindsted and the staff at Sunrise Christian Academy, and I'm excited to watch his continued progress. He's a great kid with a bright future, and I'm glad it's with us."
Ragland chose the Cowboys over finalists Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Georgia State and DePaul.
