Oklahoma State Set to Face Florida Atlantic In Charleston Classic
Oklahoma State is set to tipoff the Charleston Classic on Thursday for the Pokes’ first road trip of the Steve Lutz era. They start the tournament off against Florida Atlantic, with the game tipping off at 1:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
The Cowboys have started the season 3-0, with wins over Green Bay, St. Thomas and Southern Illinois. They’re averaging 84.7 points per game on 45% shooting from the floor. They’re also shooting 38% from 3-point range and 78% from the free throw line.
As for FAU, the Owls are averaging an impressive 96.6 points per game on 51% shooting from the floor, 44% from 3-point range and 70% from the free throw line.
The leading scorer for the Owls is junior guard Leland Walker at 11.8 points per game, while also leading with 4.6 assists per game.
Senior guard Ken Evans Jr. and freshman big man Matas Vokietaitis are also scoring in double figures, with Evans at 11.6 points and Vokietaitis at 10.6 points per game. But the other two starters, guard KyKy Tandy is averaging 9.8 points and big man Baba Miller is at 9.8 points and leading with 7.8 boards per game.
They are, however, No. 2 nationally with 13-made 3-pointers a game, and No. 11 in 3-point percentage. They’re also third in the nation in possessions per game with 83.7. The Cowboys are 44th in the nation in possessions with 76.1.
