It was a long day for Oklahoma State they fell to Nevada in the fifth-place game of the Charleston Classic, 90-78.

With the loss, the Cowboys fell to 4-2 on the season. They’ll be back in action in December as they travel to Tulsa to face the Golden Hurricane on the fourth.

Four Cowboys scored in double figures, with Chi-Chi Avery leading the way with 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field, 2-of-8 from 3-point range and 3-of-4 from the free throw line. Arturo Dean had 13 points and Robert Jennings II and Abou Ousmane had 11 points apiece.

Nevada outrebounded the Pokes 32-30, with the Cowboys forcing two more turnovers at 10.

The first half was fairly close for the first 11 nine minutes of the game as Chi-Chi Avery cut the game to one, 16-15, following a free throw. The Wolf Pack went on a quick 8-0 run over the next three minutes, 24-15, with each team trading shots and free throws for the remainder of the half to send the Pokes into halftime trailing seven, 40-33.

Nevada had a great start to the second half as they jumped out to a 19-point lead, 62-43, on a 22-8 run. The Cowboys continued to erase their deficit as they went on an 11-0 run to make it an eight-point game with 11:19 left in the second half, 62-54.

Fouls quickly became an issue for Nevada as they put the Pokes in the double bonus with more than seven minutes left in the game, which was coupled by yet another run by the Pokes 7-0, and a more than two-minute scoring drought on the other end for the Wolf Pack.

Despite shooting the ball well down the stretch, the Wolf Pack continued to put points on the board to keep the game between six and 12 points.
