Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy met with the media following the Cowboys’ 52-0 blowout loss to Colorado on Saturday.

This marks the first time since 1994 the Cowboys have gone winless in conference play, as they went 0-6-1 in that season. The Cowboys finish this season 3-9 overall and 0-9 in Big 12 play.

"Well, that one didn't turn out the way we wanted it to. I don't even have to look at the statsheet, but we didn't really give ourselves a chance on offense. I don't think we had a first down in the first half (OSU had one). I was surprised that we couldn't perform better. Defensively, the numbers won't show it, but we actually played pretty good from the standpoint that we tuned the ball over twice (at the) I don't know, 20-yard line or inside the 20. So, we gave them a couple touchdowns. They capitalized on it, and then we held them a number of times. I think we must have sacked him four or five times in the first half, but we never could manufacture anything offensively. So we just kept putting them back out on the field, putting them back out on the field. We just didn't have a very good plan on offense, and we couldn't make adjustments. It made for a difficult day. But I give them credit. They made the plays. They coached better than we did.

"I told the team that it's been a tough couple months for those guys, but they have continued to work and practice. They practiced well this week. We just didn't get the results. We got to do a better job of coaching and try to get some better results from our players. I also told them I'm excited about the offseason, and I'm excited about getting out there. You know, I never liked the season to end in football. It's the one fun time of the year for us as coaches. Now we gotta go on a pretty good stretch where we don't get to play a game for a while. So even though we've had a tough couple months, it's hard to let it go because now we're back to offseason. But it's important for the guys that are coming back to have that taste in their mouth. Days like today are extremely difficult to swallow. They haven't had many of them. In fact, I don't know that I ever had one. But I challenged. I did tell them that I was proud of them for staying with us for the last couple months and I respected them for the way they continued to practice very enthusiastically. We just didn't get results today. We gotta do a much better job of coaching that what we did today."
