OU Offers Oklahoma State 2025 Quarterback Commit Jett Niu

STILLWATER – It wouldn’t be Signing Day if there wasn’t some major news breaking about recruiting. Unfortunately, this time it involved Oklahoma State as Brent Venables and his new offensive coordinator at Oklahoma, Ben Arbuckle, have extended an offer to the Cowboys quarterback commitment in the 2025 class, Jett Niu.

Niu committed to the Pokes back on September 10.

Out of Lehi, Utah, Niu checks in at 6-3, 190 pounds and was originally committed to Appalachian State before flipping to the Pokes in September.

This is obviously a major threat to the Pokes’ recruiting class heading into Signing Day in the morning. Despite the down year, OU is a national powerhouse and is in the SEC with all the money they could want. They also have a lot of momentum following the hiring of the new OC, Arbuckle, on Monday afternoon.

Regardless of what happens with Niu, the Cowboy coaching staff is contemplating bringing a quarterback in out of the transfer portal in the next month.

This is definitely something to keep an eye on heading into Wednesday morning.

He gone for sure, if we do lose him, get a good portal QB. Lost Schobel, so this wont be a first this year.

Both boots in or move on. Hope he comes here. Good luck to him wherever he goes unless he plays OSU. Go get another QB if goes south. Next Cowboy up!!! GO POKES!!!

Guys,
The kid had an offer from Appalachian State!

Let him go to ou. If he wants out, then that's more room for a TP QB.

If he had offers from USC, Michigan, Texas and Bama, then it would be great to get him to OSU, but App State?!

Really?!
I know there are rules, but do we really want to follow them now?

OU gave him 6 figures.

I wasn't thrilled when we pursued him after losing the Schobel commitment. This may be a blessing in disguise. QB in the portal time!!

Yeah this was about the zeros having a terrible recruiting year and trying to save face by stealing one from OSU. Just typical boomer bs. The fact he went lets you know where he'll wind up.

So…. I've heard sources very close to Gundy that he would like to go get a Qb in the portal and pay them a million or two. So looks like he's actually willing to spend the money. It's just having said money.

It was a short recruiting window, they pursued him after they lost Schobel and OU reportedly offered him $200,000. With the QB room in Stillwater, he probably never would've seen the field and he'll probably never play in Norman. But he had a previous relationship with the new OC and I wish him well. This leaves a scholarship open for a QB out of the portal and won't give him five scholarship QBs in the room.
