Oklahoma State Great Justin Blackmon Inducted Into College Football Hall of Fame
Oklahoma State great, Justin Blackmon, was officially inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday evening.
Blackmon was undoubtedly the best wide receiver in all of college football in both the 2010 and 2011 seasons, winning the Biletnikoff Award in both seasons, which is given to the best receiver in college football. He recorded 1,782 receiving yards in 2010 to go along with 20 touchdowns.
In 2012, Blackmon hauled in 122 catches for 1,522 yards and 18 touchdowns.
“[I] just went out there and did what my coach told me to do,” Blackmon said of his great receiver play.
The Cowboys hadn’t recorded double-digit wins in more than 20 years before 2010, with Blackmon and Co. posting 11 wins in 2010 and then a program record 12 wins in 2011.
Cowboy football now has eight representatives in the College Football Hall of Fame – coach Lynn "Pappy" Waldorf (inducted in 1966), Bob Fenimore (inducted in 1972), Barry Sanders (inducted in 2003), Thurman Thomas (inducted in 2008), coach Jimmy Johnson (inducted in 2012), Leslie O'Neal (inducted in 2020), Terry Miller (inducted in 2022) and Blackmon.
