Report: Oklahoma State to Hire Kap Dede As Linebackers Coach
STILLWATER – It appears Oklahoma State has a new linebackers coach. It was reported by ESPN on Wednesday afternoon that new defensive coordinator, Todd Grantham, is bringing Kap Dede with him.
Dede replaces former linebackers coach, Joe Bob Clements, who joined the staff in 2013, coaching defensive linemen before being moved to linebackers following the departure of former DC Jim Knowles.
Dede has worked with Grantham as a defensive analyst at Florida, Louisville and Mississippi State, so there’s a ton of familiarity there. Dede spent this past season at Western Kentucky as the run game specialist and outside linebackers coach.
Prior to his time at WKU, Dede was the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Long Island University, and the defensive backs coach for Charlotte in 2022. He coached linebackers and nickelbacks at Colorado State in 2020 and ‘21 and has also worked at Arkansas.
After a 3-9 overall record in 2024, 0-9 in Big 12 play, it was expected that Mike Gundy would make some changes amongst his assistants. Both offensive coordinator Kasey Dunn and defensive coordinator Bryan Nardo were fired last week, with the hire of new defensive coordinator Todd Grantham confirmed by OSU today. Grantham is also bringing with him defensive line coach, Ryan Osborn.
