Doug Meacham Likes to Use Tight Ends, Oklahoma State Adds Another from the Portal
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State knows they have a strong tight end in local product Josh Ford, who played plenty this season as a true freshman.
Now, since Doug Meacham came on board as the offensive coordinator the Cowboys had added Jordan Owens (6-6, 260) from Central Arkansas, Oscar Hammond (6-4, 236) from North Texas, and now Will Monney (6-4, 230) from Utah State.
Of course, his tight end coach from Utah State, D.J. Tialavea, is now on the Oklahoma State staff. Monney should feel right at home. will be a junior and will have two seasons to play.
Last season he caught 11 passes for 138-yards (12.5-ypc) and a touchdown for the Aggies.
His freshman season he started his first game on Sept. 9 against Idaho State. He went on to play in 12 games but only had one catch for three-yards.
Monney is a two-time All-Academic Mountain West Conference honoree.
He is originally from Springville, Utah and was rated a three-star prospect and the 24th best prospect in Utah in the 2023 class. He was All-Region and finished his senior season with 31 receptions for 443-yards. He averaged 14.3-yards per reception and had three touchdowns. He was also Academic All-State.
