Oklahoma State Offers Pair of 2026 Linebackers
STILLWATER – Even with players committing out of the transfer portal for the upcoming season, the hunt for future prospects continues as the coaching staff has extended offers to a pair of linebackers out of the 2026 class.
Braxton Lindsey, a mult-sport athlete out of Rogers (AR) HS announced his offer on Saturday afternoon.
Checking in at 6-3, 220 pounds, Lindsey holds a fairly decent offer list despite not being ranked in the class multiple recruiting services. Arkansas State was the first to offer back on Oct. 3, followed by Baylor, BYU, Duke, Michigan State, Minnesota, Stanford and Utah among others.
This past season, Lindsey had a breakout junior season as a two-way player. He recorded 62 total tackles for 1,139 yards and 14 touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, where the Cowboys are recruiting him, he recorded 28 total tackles, nine sacks, five tackles for loss, 10 QB hurries, two forced fumbles and two pass break ups. He primarily played on the offensive side, averaging just 15 defensive snaps per game.
Jakore Smith is the second linebacker offered on Saturday, announcing a few hours after Lindsey took to X.
Smith checks in at 6-0, 190-pounds, and is out of Parkview Magnet in Little Rock, AR. He’s a composite four-star in the class, the No. 27 overall linebacker and the No. 5 prospect out of Arkansas, according to the 247Sports composite.
He currently holds offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, Notre Dame, OU, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas A&M.
A few hours after reporting his Oklahoma State offer, Smith posted on X an invite to the Under Armour Next camp series in Dallas.
This past season as a junior, Smith helped lead the Patriots to a 5A state championship in Arkansas with a 13-1 overall record.
