An Interesting Observation from Another Site on the Transfer Portal

STILLWATER – Understand we trust our evaluation and rankings the most, but here is another opinion that we saw. It is the 2024 final transfer portal rankings vs. this year’s current portal rankings from 247Sports. It is interesting. Note Arizona State because what they did in the portal last season led to a Big 12 Championship and near CFP quarterfinal win this season.

We withheld their points total or rankings figure as that is prioritary content. We just looked at the rankings and you can compare them to our rankings, which we also included.

hmmm.... I can't for the life of me figure out what this entire post is trying to tell me.


can somebody explain it to me? It seems irrelevant and nonsensical to me, at least at first glance.

Know I remember why I canceled my subscription to Pokes Report.
1. OSU portal class is NOT #8 by 247 …rather not even top 25
2. 247 ranking methodology factors in the raw # of transfers in class thus skewing the rankings. ie.. not 100% based on production #
3. Robert Allen is not qualified to provide a ranking ratings
4. TTech, Colorado, Kansas, Baylor, UCF, Utah and others B12 programs boat-raced us on a per player talent level

How much more can a journalists be discredited

bleh.... I'll go with Robert over Gary every day and twice on Sunday

You realize these are only Big 12 teams? As in Oklahoma State is No. 8 in the Big 12 transfer portal rankings according to 247?

Sounds like somebody's hung over or having a really bad day to me. It's just an opinion in an article to read, man. It's not life and death. Why don't you chill out and relax a little bit and not sound so bitter and miserable.

Zach, I don't even think you can begin to even give any kind of REAL OPINION on any of this until after the Spring period! Most of what I see from 24/7, on3, rivals, even you all is based on a number rating system that may or may not pan out in the end!

I tend to agree

What I would like to see though is a list of players gone and players new (even Freshmen), by POSITION.


It seems like it would be a bit easier to judge improvement or status quo by looking at the kids by position, so one could assess for themselves whether they thought we had improved or not at each position.

I agree. I like what I've seen from a good portion of these players, but it's not at this level. So, I have to take everything I've seen with a grain of salt.
