Cooper's East Team wins 25-0 in 100th East-West Shrine Game
STILLWATER – Dalton Cooper came in at right tackle in the first quarter after a turnover and helped the East team score their second touchdown and take a 14-0 lead. Everything was kept pretty simple by the rules and Cooper was solid in both the run game and pass protection during his snaps in the contest. He did his job and only lost his assignment a couple of times and it did not impact the play.
Cooper wore No. 72 in the game and really faced two players. He first saw former SMU defensive end Elijah Roberts. That was on the first scoring drive. Later Cooper saw a familiar foe in former Baylor edge defender Garmon Randolph. The game was really kind of uneventful for Cooper. He didn’t have any pancakes of big blocks in the open. He also did not give up a sack or tackle-for-loss. He did allow a few quarterback pressures.
The East won the game 25-0 and Cooper gained some valuable experience playing for NFL coaches including Green Bay Packers offensive line assistant Eddie Gordon and New England Patriots Robert Kugler.
