Oklahoma State Looking To Bounce Back In Free Game Against UCF on Wednesday

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State athletic department announced free admission to the Cowboys’ Big 12 game against UCF on Wednesday evening as the Pokes look to get back into the win column.

Not to put a damper on things, or try to dissuade anyone from attending Wednesday’s game, but the Cowboys are coming off a bad loss to Texas Tech in Stillwater last weekend, 93-55.

“What happened today at 2 o’clock in unacceptable for our program,” Lutz said in the postgame following the loss to TTU last weekend. “We’re better than that, we’ve been playing better than that and for whatever reason, today, we did not compete at the level that we need to compete at in this league in order to be successful.”

They shot just 37% from the field, 35% from 3-point range and just 52% from the free throw line. They also turned the ball over 14 times, leading to 21 points for Tech on the other end.

Now, to flip the script and say some positive things, the Cowboys have shown some decent fight this season after losses, and Wednesday night will tell us all we need to know about this team.

Coach Lutz told the media following the disappointing loss to TCU he believed his team is resilient. Well, not too many situations present themselves to show resiliency quite like a 38-point loss at home.

With that being said, UCF can really pour the points on. The Knights are currently third in the conference averaging 76.4 points per game, but are doing so on a league-worst 40% shooting per game. A couple of positives and negatives for the Pokes are UCF allows a league-worst 84 points per game, while the Cowboys are allowing nearly 76 points per game.

Wing Keyshawn Hall leads the conference in scoring with 21 points per game 48% shooting from the floor. He also leads the team in rebounding with 7.5 boards per game.

So, the Cowboys will definitely have their hands full on the defensive end.
