Oklahoma State Gets Visit Locked In from One of my Favorites in Jakore Smith

STILLWATER – We kind of let the cat outof thebag yesterday as we had heard that Jakore Smith, the ultra-talented linebacker and all-purpose player from multiple Arkansas State Champion, three-peat Little Rock Parkview Magnet High School had locked in on a visit to Oklahoma State.

Head coach Mike Gundy visited there in January as did recruiting analyst Zach Allen. Oklahoma State has been aggressive about showing Smith the love. They also have a Parkview alum now on the team in transfer linebacker Trip White from Mississippi.

Smith’s visit is planned for April 17-19. I can gurantee he will see an OSU baseball game while on hand. The 6-1, 200 pound Smith can flat out fly (4.43 in the 40) and he doubles as a big-time baseball prospect as well. Catchers hate him as he is automatic to second after reaching first.

Smith had 65 tackles, four sacks, four tackles-for-loss, four quarterback hurries, two fumbles forced, and two fumbles recovered in the 2023 season, his sophomore campaign. This past season in 2024 he helped the Patriots go 13-1 in winning another championship and a perfect 7-0 in conference play. I couldn’t find his complete 2024 stats, but from watching his highlight video, I can tell you he over 70 tackles and double digit sacks and tackles-for-loss.

At last count, Smith had 17 offers including Oklahoma State, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.

He has locked in a visit to Arkansas in June.
