New Transfer QB Hauss Hejny Talks Being at Oklahoma State on OSU Max
STILLWATER – New Oklahoma State transfer quarterback Hauss Hejny was close to becoming a Cowboy coming out of his state championship high school career at Aledo. He wound up at TCU, where he played in four games carrying the football 15 times for 65-yards and keeping his redshirt. Hejny will be the fastest quarterback that I believe Oklahoma State has ever had. He has a 10.83 second clocking in the 100 meters. Yes, it would be close with Hejny and Spencer Sanders. Hejny gets a lot of his speed handed down by his mother. JimAnne was an All-State and multi gold medal State track performer in high school that ran track and played basketball at TCU.

“If my mom didn’t go to TCU, she was going to come here,” Hejny said of his mom in his “Welcome Home” interview on OSU Max. “Both my grandparents wanted her to come here. She went to TCU because it was only an hour from home and it was easy. Whe I told my grandparents that I was going to come for a visit here, they were like ‘can we come? We love Stillwater and the rich culture, and the history and Coach Gundy and all that.’ So, it was super cool to have them behind my back and supportive of my decision to come here."
It was probably a good call that his mom went to TCU, where she was a huge contributor to TCU women’s basketball and track and she met TCU defensive end Jesse Hejny and they have three boys. hauss is the oldest and on his official visit the younger brothers, Beau and Jhett were there as well. Cowboys Director of Football Finance and former OSU and NFL linebacker Kenyatta Wright is doing the interviews for OSU Max and he admitted that he started recruiting Hauss’s brothers on the official visit.

“I’ve had some genetics backing me up and some guidance along the way,” Hejny said of his family. “i’m just very happy to have my whole family invested in this decision and in this place just like I am.”
Hejny is not only fast, but he can throw the football. His stats and game video from Aledo High School make a great resume’ and he was in Stillwater before his senior season at Aledo on a visit. He led that team to the Texas Class 5A-I State Championship that senior year and would up at TCU. He talked of leaving because he knew TCU, by the NIL investment was “all in” on quarterback Josh Hoover. So, what is Oklahoma State getting through the portal with Hejny.

“From the football side of thing, I’m a hardworker, do the right thing, and I’m going to do my best to raise up the people around me,” Hejny said. “I’m going to have some fun.”
Pretty simple and Hejny seems that way. You can see so much more in his interview with Wright on OSU Max. I know that I have been impressed seeing him at Oklahoma State basketball and women’s basketball games with teammates. I’ve seen him out to eat in Stillwater with his teammates, not only on offense, but on defense too. He has yet to have an official football practice (lots of offseason walk thrus) but he is already showing he wants to be an active teammate and wants to not only soak up but spread the culture and team comraderie in Oklahoma State football.
