Justin Blackmon Next Inductee Into Oklahoma State Football Ring of Honor
STILLWATER – One of the best wide receivers in college football history, Justin Blackmon, will be the sixth player inducted into the Oklahoma State Football Ring of Honor this fall.
The ceremony will take place on November 15 when the Cowboys host Kansas State.
Blackmon, who was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame last year, was the best receiver in the country in both 2010 and 2011. He won the Biletnikoff Award after both seasons, hauling in an NCAA sophomore record in 2010 with 1,782 yards, and the 20 receiving touchdowns was the seventh-most ever recorded.
He still holds several NCAA records, including 14-straight games with at least 100 receiving years, as well as 14-straight games with at least 100 receiving yards and at least one touchdown.
During the Cowboys’ 2011 Big 12 title run, Blackmon recorded 122 catches for 1,522 yards and 18 touchdowns.
During his time in Stillwater, Blackmon posted 3,564 receiving yards and 42 touchdowns on 253 receptions.
As of last year, Blackmon was the final OSU football player inducted into the CFB Hall of Fame. He is the eighth Oklahoma State inductee, which includes Bob Fenimore, Barry Sanders, Thurman Thomas, Leslie O’Neal and Terry Miller. The two coaches include Lynn “Pappy” Waldorf and Jimmy Johnson.
The other inductees into the Ring of Honor are the five Hall of Fame players listed above.
