Oklahoma State Lands First Transfer Portal Commitment In Kanye Clary
STILLWATER – On the heels of Oklahoma State head coach Steve Lutz’ name being thrown around with the opening at Texas A&M, the Cowboys have landed their first transfer portal commitment in Mississippi State guard, Kanye Clary.
Clary checks in at 5-11, 190 pounds, and is originally out of Virginia Beach, VA. He played in just seven games for the Bulldogs this past season, averaging 6.3 points per game on 37% shooting from the floor. He also had 1.3 boards per game and had 18 assists to just five turnovers before getting injured.
Prior to his short stint in Starkville, Clary was at Penn State, where he had a very good 2023-24. He averaged close to 17 points per game that season, nearly three boards and three assists per game. He finished the season eighth in the Big Ten in scoring.
His freshman season in Happy Valley saw him with nearly four points per game.
So, when healthy, Clary plays a big role.
Clary joins the returning players of Arturo Dean, Robert Jennings II, Jamyron Keller, Andrija Vukovic and Mikey Kelvin II, who was a fifth-year season, but spent this past season redshirting.
There are also three high school players who will be here in June, guard Ryan Crotty and centers Mekhi Ragland, who’s signed, and center Ben Ahmed, who’s committed.
