Georgia State Transfer Running Back Freddie Brock Picks Oklahoma State
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is still active in the transfer portal as they’ve just added Georgia State running back, Freddie Brock.
Brock is coming off an official visit to Stillwater, which began on Monday, April 7. Brock should have one year of eligibility remaining.
He chose the Pokes over interest from Liberty, Sam Houston State, South Florida, UMass, UTEP and Western Kentucky among others. Michigan State, Nebraska and West Virginia showed interest before his commitment.
Originally out of East High School in Rochester, NY, Brock checks in at 5-10, 195 pounds, and is coming off a good season this past year at Georgia State. He posted 151 carries for 819 yards and eight touchdowns, which was up from his first season of 30 carries for 307 yards and one touchdown.
He began his college career at the University of Maine, where he had 135 carries for 705 yards and seven touchdowns in year one. His numbers went down in year two with 61 carries for 260 yards and two scores.
Brock was able to enter the portal outside of the window because he earned his degree. He’s a good all-around back who can run inside or outside with good speed and the ability to run over defenders.
Brock joins a running back group of Rodney Fields Jr., Kalib Hicks, Trent Howland, Sesi Vailahi and Jaden Allen-Hendrix. Mike Gundy told the media on April 1 redshirt freshman Allen-Hendrix suffered a lower body injury, the most likely reason the Pokes recruited Brock.
