are any of them considered to be point guards? Anybody on the team a bonafide PG?
I don't really see any SF's either, per se.
I'll be interested to see how Lutz assembles these players into a team.
STILLWATER – Steve Lutz and Co. have been very active in the transfer portal putting together the roster for Oklahoma State heading into the 2025-26 season.
Up to this point in the offseason, Lutz and Co. have added four players out of the portal, all of which are guards, to go with the four returning players, Arturo Dean, Robert Jennings II, Andrija Vukovic and Mikey Kelvin II, and three high school players of guard Ryan Crotty and big men Mekhi Ragland and Ben Ahmed.
That leaves two open roster spots, which look to go to a forward and a center.
So, we’ll be sure and update this stat list once more players announce their commitments, or if any more current roster players enter the portal. But here’s the comparison of the stats between the incoming portal players and the players Lutz and Co. have lost to graduation and the transfer portal.
2024-25 |
Games (combined) |
Points (per game) | Rebounds (per game) | Assists (total) | Steals (total) | Turnovers (total) | Blocks (total) |
Incoming (4) | 77 | 56.5 | 14.3 | 132 | 82 | 123 | 9 |
Outgoing (9) | 290 | 62 | 25.5 | 310 | 217 | 332 | 90 |
Here’s what each of the four guards bring to the table for Steve Lutz in 2025-26, starting with the first commitment out of the portal, Mississippi State senior guard, Kanye Clary.
Clary checks in at 5-11, 190 pounds, and is originally out of Virginia Beach, VA. He played in just seven games for the Bulldogs this past season, averaging 6.3 points per game on 37% shooting from the floor. He also had 1.3 boards per game and had 18 assists to just five turnovers before getting injured.
Prior to his short stint in Starkville, Clary was at Penn State, where he had a very good 2023-24. He averaged close to 17 points per game that season, nearly three boards and three assists per game. He finished the season eighth in the Big Ten in scoring.
Junior guard Isaiah Coleman
Coleman checks in at 6-5, 191 pounds, and is out of Fredericksburg, VA, by way of Word of God Christian Academy in North Carolina.
This past season as a sophomore, Coleman averaged 15.6 points per game on 39% shooting from the floor. He also shot 30% from 3-point range and 76% from the free throw line. He brought down 5.3 rebounds per game and averaged nearly two assists per game at 51 on the season. He did, however, have more turnovers with 60.
He dropped 18 points on the Pokes back in December on nearly 60% shooting from the floor.
Senior guard Anthony Roy
Roy checks in at 6-5 and brings tons of length and athleticism to the guard position for coach Lutz. There are two spots remaining for the coaching staff to fill.
He was a senior this past season and should have one year of eligibility remaining.
Originally out of Oakland, CA, Roy spent this past season with Doug Gottlieb at Green Bay, playing in just 11 games before getting hurt. In those 11 games, he averaged nearly 26 points on 50% shooting from the floor and 43% shooting from 3-point range and 86% from the free throw line.
Those numbers include an impressive 27 against the Cowboys in the season opener back in November, and 30 points against Ohio State back on Nov. 25.
Sophomore guard Vyctorius Miller
Miller checks in at 6-5, 185 pounds and is coming off his freshman season with LSU in 2024-25. Originally out of Los Angeles, CA, Miller played in 25 games as a true freshman, averaging nearly nine points on 45% shooting from the floor, with 2.4 rebounds per game in 19 minutes of action. He missed a handful of games throughout January and March with an ankle injury.
His two best games in SEC play came against South Carolina and Tennessee, where he dropped 12 points against the Game Cocks and 17 against the Volunteers.
I do not believe any of these are point guards, which makes the next few spots interesting because they still need a big, a PF and another point guard to go with Dean. I asked Lutz back towards the end of the season if they were going to recruit to 13 spots or 15 spots and he just told me yes. So, I would imagine they're working on 15.RodeoPoke said:
