was Roberson a "preferred walk-on", or a "recruited walk-on"? I can see some of those guys occasionally working their way into a scholarship, but beyond those guys
what "regular Joe" has walked-on to the team and had enough success to earn a scholarship?
and wouldn't those types of players now simply start at a "lower" school and get their experience, then enter the portal? It actually sounds much, much better with a roster limit (since so many new kids would now be on scholarship).
I haven't seen any real analysis as to whether this is actually a problem. We're taking the top 20 of them and giving them scholarships already (essentially).
