Oklahoma State Quarterback Maealiuaki Smith Enters Transfer Portal
STILLWATER – The first big surprise of the spring happened on Monday as Pokes Report can confirm redshirt freshman quarterback, Maealiuaki Smith, has entered his name into the transfer portal.
The news was first reported by ESPN.
Smith played in four games this past season as a true freshman, starting in the final two games due to injuries and poor play ahead of him. He went 44-of-74 for 489 yards and two touchdowns with four interceptions. He also had 15 rushing attempts for -9 yards, with sacks playing into that number.

His performance against Texas Tech on Senior Day in late November was his best of the four games as he went 26-of-35 for 316 yards and two touchdowns with one pick. The Pokes lost the game 56-48.
It was a bad day all the way around in the final game of the season against Colorado, but Smith went 11-of-29 for 70 yards with two picks.
Smith is originally out of Junipero Serra HS and Sacramento, CA.
It was expected one of the four quarterbacks would enter the transfer portal either towards the end or following spring football.
The coaching staff added redshirt freshman transfer quarterback, Hauss Hejny at the turn of the calendar, and they return redshirt junior Garret Rangel and redshirt sophomore, Zane Flores. It was reported by Pokes Report’s Robert Allen Flores had the best spring of the four quarterbacks.
