Report: Oklahoma State Hosting Texas Transfer Punter Michael Kern
STILLWATER – It appears Oklahoma State is looking to add another punter to the transfer portal as it’s being reported Mike Gundy and Co. are hosting Texas transfer, Michael Kern.
He entered the portal last Thursday on April 24.
Kern is coming off his freshman season with the Longhorns and had a solid season recording 41 punts for 1,706 punting yards, an average of just over 45 yards per boot.
Kern was also the field goal holder for the Horns.
Originally out of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and St. Thomas Aquinas, Kern checks in at 6-3, 195 pounds and was an All-American and All-State punter in high school and was the No. 5 punter in the country according to On3.
Wes Pahl is coming off a productive 2024 season in which he averaged 46 yards per punt and is also coming off a solid spring. But he’s the only punter currently on the roster as Hudson Kaak entered the transfer portal back in December following the season. Bringing in a talent like Kern would shore up the position for next three years.
