Oklahoma State Lands BYU Transfer Carson Su'esu'e

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has landed another commitment out of the transfer portal in former BYU linebacker, Carson Su’esu’e, who was in Stillwater this weekend on an official visit.

Last reported, Su’esu’e was 6-5, 240 pounds. He was a member of BYU’s 2024 recruiting class and is just coming off his LDS religious mission to Orlando, FL.

The journey to playing tight end in Stillwater started out for Su’esu’e playing quarterback at De La Dalle HS in California, before transferring to Granger for his senior season.  He was recruited to BYU to play linebacker, but he put on quite a bit of weight since before his mission and is going to play tight end in Stillwater.

This is one of the more interesting recruiting stories this cycle for the Cowboys, both out of the high school and portal ranks as no one really knows how Su’esu’e will be because of the all the variables listed above: three-star quarterback out of high school recruited to play linebacker at BYU before a two-year mission and now recruited to play TE in Stillwater without having played the last two years.

But as a quarterback in HS, he completed 224-of-332 passes for 3,295 yards and 33 touchdowns for Granger, while also rushing for 709 yards and nine touchdowns on 76 carries.

So, he’s athletic and after putting on more than 30 pounds in the past few years, appears to be physical. But it’s a mystery until he arrives on campus and starts going through workouts with Rob Glass and drills with Meacham’s offense.
