Oklahoma State’s Season Comes to an End Following 12-0 to Arkansas in Regional Final

Oklahoma State’s 2025 season has come to an end in the finals of the Fayetteville Regional with a 12-0 six-inning loss to No. 3 Arkansas.

With the loss, the Cowgirls finish the season with a 35-20 overall record, their highest loss total since 2018, and the first time they failed to advance out of a regional since 2018, coincidentally enough over in Fayetteville as well.

They also finished with a 13-9 overall record in Big 12 play.

Pitcher Ruby Meylan got the start in the circle for the Pokes, going just two innings and giving up five runs, three of them earned, on six hits with two strikeouts and two walks.

She fell to 21-10 on the season with the loss.

RyLee Crandall came into the game in relief, going four innings and giving up eight hits and seven runs, just one earned, with three strikeouts.

The Razorbacks plated three runs in the top of the first inning, the first on a play at the plate where Audrey Schneidmiller applied the tag late to a sliding Kramer. They’d put three more across in the top of the third to make it 6-0.

The Cowgirls never could get anything going offensively as they recorded just three hits. They did, however, load the bases in the bottom of the fifth inning as Rachel Hathoot walked with two outs, and was then advanced by Audrey Schneidmiller with a single. Megan Bloodworth loaded the bases as she was hit by a pitch, but a defensive play by Arkansas ended the Cowgirls’ only threat.

I think they need 1, maybe 2 more really effective pitchers next year to get back to where we expect this team to perform. Ruby and Rylee are really solid, but I think we saw the effects of not having a good 3rd and 4 th pitchers in this regional. Ruby had to pitch way too much during the season, and was not here regular dominant self during the regional. And Rylee was hurt a good portion of the season, and it wasn't until the last month or so that we saw how effective she can be..
And I'm not sure what's wrong with the offence, but it went missing at critical points this year. It needs to be more consistent throughout the year. I believe everything can be fixed, and I'm looking for a much better year next year

There is a problem with the offense. Gone backwards two years in a row in both avg and power. Davis, Godwin, Wark and Edwards all regressed significantly. Bloodworth was the only bat that improved. Not sure if the problem is approach, mechanics or our opponents have discovered the holes in our swings.

Thanks for the hard work this season. A simple game of pitching...fielding...hitting. Improvement is needed in all three phases IMO. GO POKES!!!

I'm thinking Kenny G screwed up when his pitching coach retired and he brought in the former pitcher, causing Maxwell to transfer. We haven't recovered yet.

I'm watching to see if that's the answer at pitching coach, I'm not convinced so far
