Big 12 to Pay Member Schools Close to $35 Million

STILLWATER – Big 12 Conference commissioner, Brett Yormark, and Chairperson of the Big 12 Board of Directors, Linda Livingstone, met with the media Friday morning and announced a record-setting distribution $558 million to member schools.

That means each school will receive roughly $35 million.

That’s anywhere between $2 million and $5 million less than the conference paid out last year, which was between $37.8 million and $42.1 million. But this number includes all 16 member schools as full-time payouts.

This number is significantly less compared to the Big Ten schools, who are receiving roughly $63 million and the ACC, who’s set to pay out between $43 million and $46 million. The SEC has yet to announce its payout.

Hard to compete with this much discrepancy in the payouts. Time for the entire system to evolve into the NFL model, the sooner the better, and OSU see if they are in the 32/48/64 team league. GO POKES!!!

Listened to Robert for a while this morning and he said we had signed a record agreement. Close to the SEC and Big 10.

this agreement is nowhere near close

The payout is $41.5 for the 12 Big 12/PAC schools and $19M for the AAC schools.

This is the final year of the old contract, and is impacted by the $30M for the AAC schools having to come out of the money of the other 12 schools. So if we didn't have those 4 it would have been $48.1M. We're not falling behind the ACC. In fact next year we'll be ahead of them and the lead will grow as we get the new contract and we don't have to chip in to pay for the 4 AAC schools.

Next year expect our payout to be over $50M each.

There's a gap, and they intend to grow it, but Yormark has done a lot to grow our income as well.

I already listed the actual numbers in another thread.

we're 4th out of 4. (well, the B1G hadn't reported yet, but they won't be 4th, right)

The ACC Network started paying off for them, as was projected by ESPN as part of their deal.

Yormark gave our tier 3 rights away for nothing. Zero.

The facts are these numbers are based on the old contract which had to be carved out to pay for the 4 G5 members. New contract will flip the script, and the ACC is breaking up so they are not the competition you want them to be.
