STILLWATER – As spring practice ended it was difficult to figure out just which players were on the Oklahoma State roster and which ones weren’t. Head coach Mike Gundy tried to do the right thing and with the House vs. NCAA lawsuit seemingly coming close to a settlement. The anticipation was the NCAA designated 105 roster limits would be imposed. Gundy let players that wouldn’t make the 105 list know, so they could try to find a new and extended college football opportunity.

So RA, if you want to crystal ball an answer or guesstimate, have we resolved our OL problems? Do you think this group is a sizable upgrade and/or the combination of coaches and player changes is a sizable upgrade for the OL?

We all thought they were too, but both are here on campus. Robert talked about it yesterday on his radio show.

We do stream on tripleplaysportsradio.com and have streaming apps in both the Apple Store and on Google. Robert's M-F 10am-1pm CT.

Because the House vs. NCAA lawsuit has not been settled, I can safely say it is so close that the 105 roster limit will not go into effect and players (walkon or scholarship) that have been there will be allowed to stay. Mike Gundy was honest with his players regarding whether they would make the 105 if it can into play. That allowed those athletes to make an informed decision on their future. Some of the players, including the two you mentioned, had not gone anywhere else and wanted a chance to stay and earn their way onto a future roster limit. They are there and will work to make the best of it. I like that.

My crystal ball with 20 offensive linemen and what I know of the new guys and the returning guys like Kawecki, Mafi, McKinney, Stanaland, and Sanders. I think you will form a solid two deep on the offensive line. I felt the problem was with some of the older offensive linemen that were really used up and falling down on their play. The guard play except when Kawecki was in there, was rough.

I am aware of that, but you must obviously by aware that many of us have jobs, can't listen every day, and can't really stream.
If it's a big issue like this, it should be an article on the site - that's all I'm saying. That's what we pay for.

We do articles on everything we can that we deem important. It's not really an argument other than sometimes it ends up on radio first, website second and others times website first, radio second. Nothing to argue about.

There is no rule.

there is a lawsuit with a proposed settlement between sides that eliminates walkons and instead increases the scholarship limit to 105.

The Judge has not yet approved that settlement.

The opposition has suggested that walkons, etc. will be adversely damaged by the roster limits, so they are considering allowing a one-year exemption (this year) for the walk on players

Which of course is also being challenged in court......

This mess is along way from being settled, even after there is some so-called settlement.

Settlement approved last night. We have a story coming out soon that will address all of this, kind a q and a on the settlement and how it applies to Oklahoma State.
