Oklahoma State Offers Underrated Linebacker Prospect Colton McComb at Final Minicamp
STILLWATER – Camp season winds down at Oklahoma State with the No. 3 and No. 4 football minicamps with the Cowboys staff on Father’s Day. A lot of times the final camps have a lot of good high school players but not a lot of recruitable prospects. That wasn’t the case today as there were plenty of players out to evaluate and at least three earned offers by the end of their camp. In the afternoon camp Oklahoma State offered a linebacker who I truly believe is vastly underrated in Colton McComb, a 2027 prospect out of Edmond (OK) Memorial who is already 6-2, 210 pounds.
He is lighter in the spring because he is a standout on the track with a 100-meter time verified at 10.96 seconds. He was part of Edmond’s third-place 4x100 relay team that posted a 41.4 in the state meet for third.

Size, speed and production for McComb as he finished last season at linebacker with 102 tackles, 67 unassisted stops, 6.5 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks, 14 QB hurries, an interception and two fumble recoveries. You can see our story cover picture is McComb tackling Del City star and Oklahoma Defensive Player of the Year last season, Ricklan Holmes II. He doubles as a power run option in the score zone and had 18 carries for 144 yards with three touchdowns, an 8.0 yards per carry average. He also caught a pair of passes.
His older brother, David, will be a freshman quarterback at Kansas this coming season. Colton is a 4.0 student and a leader in the school. Surely, recruiting sites will re-evaluate and come out with a stronger ranking for the young man.

He tested well in Stillwater this weekend, weighing in light at 207, but it has been a busy week. He was at OU camp earlier in the week and was offered by the Sooners. Tulane has also offered. He posted a 31.1 vertical jump in Stillwater, a broad jump just short of 10 feet, his forty was 4.6 hand-timed, and he had a 4.5 on the 5-10-5 agility.
In drills he was a leader all afternoon. He seems to have a very good football IQ and really likes being on the field and doing anything related.
