STILLWATER – I’m fresh off doing my Big 12 position rankings and the linebackers, so having ranked the Cowboys No. 11 in the Big 12 at that position, then it is easy to pinpoint a need for one or more linebackers to pick it up. The need is not just to pick it up, but help carry the expectation of massive improvement over a defense last season that quite possibly the worse statistically in school history.

This young man is one we can all be proud of. I have met and talked to him several times, and can tell you he is happy to be a Cowboy. Respectful, mannerly, and soft spoken. He is my new favorite player. I'm from Texarkana, Tx, Nick Martin's home town, and am hoping that Trip will develop into another outstanding linebacker like Nick!

Robert, have you heard any talk from the defensive coaches about Zaquan Patterson, Miami transfer, possibly moving to linebacker? I heard a couple of the coaches say he reminds them a lot of Nick Martin who was a DB in highschool and his first year at OSU! He has that same burst of speed and is a hard hitter plus he is about 6'0" and around 211 pounds now!!!
